I finally got to go see Inception last Thursday!

I went to see it at Orchard Cineleisure with Matthew and Sherlene (Serena was supposed to go with us as well but backed out at the last minute because she started feeling unwell all of a sudden), and although I really enjoyed it, I have to admit that it wasn't as satisfying as I thought it would be. But it was still an amazing film.

I guess that's what you get when you anticipate something way too much xD There's a higher possibility of feeling somewhat disappointed in the end.

But please don't get me wrong, it was a good movie. Hahaha okay I'll stop talking about that for now xD

Anyway, after the movie we walked around for a while, and look what I saw outside of Paragon:

This. The iPhone 4. Or rather, for the "unbeatable plans" for it. Not sure if this was from Singtel, Starhub or whatever, but it's not like I really care. I don't use phone plans and I'm certainly not that interested in owning an iPhone. And I'm most definitely not willing to queue hours just for it.

Was contemplating whether to bring it to the concierge or something, but then I decided against it in case the person remembers that she left it in there and goes back for it. Anyway, I decided to post it because of the hilarious Justin Bieber folder inside, HAHAHAHA.

Last night I went to the 2010 Festival of Praise with people from my cell group. It was held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and that was the first time that I've ever been there xD

So, first we met as a group at the new Stadium MRT station, and check out the washrooms:

I've probably seen a queue to the male washroom less than five times in my life. Why is it so? Is the female population larger? Do ladies have smaller bladders? Do guys hate going to public washrooms more than women? It is such a mystery.

The queue to get inside. Thank goodness we didn't have to line up for very long. We were inside the stadium about ten minutes after joining the queue.

I'm pretty sure the event was full house that night, and according to Wikipedia, the maximum capacity of the Singapore Indoor Stadium is 12,000.

Today was fun!
I explored almost every inch - okay, exaggeration alert - of Orchard Road.
I went to:
ION Orchard. Ngee Ann City. Forum. Mandarin Gallery. Paragon.
Hm, is that all? Feels like I went to a lot of places xD Oh well, hahaha.
Anyway, I went to these places to do some serious window shopping.
I didn't buy a thing from any of those places, mostly because the only shops I went into were high-end luxury designer brands, hahahaha.
My communication skills lecturer wants us to go out and explore designer shops and try the clothes on every once in a while so we can sometimes get ideas for our own collections.
A really cool assignments, no? xD

Anyway, I didn't really try on that many things because it can be quite intimidating to go into a store where clothes are more expensive than most gadgets.

The sales assistants were nice, but I'm the type who hates trying on a whole bunch of things while knowing that I'm not going to buy a single one of them.

I loved this dress! But... it's from Louis Vuitton and it's SGD5150.
And I was so happy because this is a size S and I could fit it! :D

Really cool shirt from a designer called Robert Rodriguez.
I've forgotten exactly how much it was but it definitely in the hundreds.

This rather simple blouse is from one of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's fashion lines, Elizabeth & James. I'll admit it's pretty cool but the price is not worth it. Almost SGD500! What I liked about this was a zip at the back of the shirt. If you want the blouse to be slightly more loose-fitting, you can undo the zip, and zipping it back up again would obviously make it a little more form-fitting.

Really poofy cute skirt from Miu Miu. SGD1500.

Gorgeous jacket from MaxMara. SGD999. Not practical to be worn here in Singapore 98% of the time, though.

The lipstick prints on the dress remind me of Katy Perry, for some reason xD That and the gorgeous blazer are from Marc by Marc Jacobs. The jacket was going for half price, but even so it was more than SGD250 xD I think the dress was over SGD1000.

Well, like I said, I had a lot of fun, haha.
Might have been even more fun if I could actually afford them! xD

Attention Span Deterioration.

The human attention span is definitely getting shorter and shorter.
It's scary.
Let me use myself as an example.
Back in 2003, when I was a wee form one student, I had the habit of handwriting every detail I could remember about my day into a personal diary. I did it almost every single day.

I kept this habit up until I was in form three or four. By the time I was in form five the dates on my diary entries started getting further and further apart from each other. I guess it had something to do with the fact that I started my first blog on Xanga in 2005.

Okay, so, my blog. I remember updating it quite often.
A lot more often than I do now, at least.
When I look through the archives of this blogspot, the differences are quite obvious.

Lots of pictures. Quite a lot of detail and thought put into each post.

Right now, this post I'm typing out right now is probably the "deepest" I've written in a while.

The era of blogging is sort of a thing of the past now.

Because now, there are two [not that] new kids on the block.

Tumblr and Twitter.

Now, I have nothing against these at all.
I love Twitter.
It's quick, it's easy to use, and it's fun.
I still haven't really gotten to understand the appeal of Tumblr, though xD

But yeah, you see my point, right?

Anyway, just another one of my ocassional rants.

I was going to do a detailed post of my family trip to the Sabah Agricultural Park, but almost all of the photographs I took on the trip are on my Facebook already, hahaha.

Another one of the short attention span culprits xP

I wonder what's next, though.
What could beat Tumblr and Twitter in terms of being so quick and limited?

So tomorrow my family and I are taking a trip to Tenom to visit the Sabah Agricultural Park and to stay overnight, which is why I have to actually start packing for my trip back to freaking Singapore tonight ):

Sigh. These four weeks flew by way too quickly.
I guess I'm kinda looking forward to going back to school, but at the same time I'm also dreading it.
I'll be in my final year of college!
Another example of time zooming past without us poor innocent beings even feeling it.

Anyway. I still have three days left to enjoy my time here in beloved KK, and I still have that trip to look forward to (:

Confessions of a Sort-of-Shopaholic Part II.

Okay, so I didn't really get that many things, but I still had a lot of fun shopping with my mom at Centre Point today (:

I went crazy at Watsons and Pacific Ngiukee because of the big sale they were having on cosmetics. Some eyeshadows - including the one up there in the picture with two off-white/cream colours and a light green one - from Japanese brand KATE were less than RM14 (the original prices are somewhere between RM40 and RM60. Amazing deal.) And the tiny eyeshadow sticks were only RM5.33. I got two of those, one in black and another in white. And ZA's foundations were going on a sort of buy-1-free-1 deal.

For some odd reason the plaid shorts look black/grey in the photograph above but in real life they're actually sort of brownish/maroon xD I got them for around RM57 from Bontton.

Ballet flats are for school because I need to wear covered shoes for almost all of my classes and most shoes that are covered and high heeled are dreadfully painful to wear for long periods of time =\

I also got a bunch of stuff from the new Daiso, which, for some reason, has a green sign instead of the usual red xD Hahaha.

I got two pairs of grey contact lenses, the exact same type as the ones I've been wearing since late last year. I don't think blue or green ones would suit me that well, and I'm not particularly fond of the brown ones.

I don't know why I put my new facial cleanser in there.

And last but certainly not least, that adorable canvas tote is from dear ol' F.O.S xD And it was only RM39! And it's so cute! I was deciding between getting that one and a similar zebra print one. For most people who know me well enough, the zebra print one would've been the obvious choice for me, but today I was a lot more drawn towards this one (: I love it, it's so cute.

What a nice way to begin my last week here in KK before I finally go back to school, at least (:

The movie itself actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be xD

I went to see it at Suria KK this afternoon with Michelle and Nigel after going to the STTSS bazaar, which was kinda boring, to be perfectly honest =\

I loved the part when Jacob told Edward:

HAHAHAHAHA.

Anyway, I would say that Eclipse was a lot better than Twilight and New Moon.
Breaking Dawn might be the best, though. But maybe I'm biased because it's my favourite book out of the entire saga.

At night my family and I had dinner at a Korean restaurant near our house.
It was really good, but I hated the kim-chi xD
The beef, on the other hand, was amazing. Seriously!
But that alone cost RM52 O.o

The beef that was super duper tasty! Yum.

The squid was quite delicious too. We had a total of five or six dishes.

I love this site called Looklet.

It's basically like a dress-up game (which I've loved since I was a kid), but the clothes, models, backgrounds etc. are all extremely realistic and some items have more than one way to wear them.

I went a little shopper's trigger-happy today.
I guess that's what happens when you get your first salary xD
I went to this flea market that was held in a nightclub, and it was pretty cool.
Heard that Singaporean celebrity blogger Dawn Yang was gonna set up a stall there, but for some reason I didn't manage to find her xD Would've been cool to see what things she was selling, though. Oh well.

After my flea market spree I headed over to Bugis Junction (just like, two blocks away from the location of the flea market) and bought a few more things including two T-shirts for Tanya (but yes, she has to pay me back, wahaha).

Months of suppressing my procrastination habit have finally paid off!
I just got my results for the semester and they are unexpectedly not bad at all xD
Okay, so they aren't terrific either but they are quite a huge leap from my previous results.
And because my parents are very happy, my happiness doubles =D

Uh, and if you're wondering what my results are, they are almost straight B's, hahaha.
0 fails and provisional passes, not even a D (:
But no A's either =\ Oh well.

Anyway, slight gloat fest aside.
I just helped out as a dresser for my school's degree students' graduation fashion show and it was kinda cool, I guess.
Never have I been in a room with so many tall, thin and gorgeous people.
And yes, I'm obviously speaking of the models hired to parade down the runway in the graduating students' creations.
We all had our own racks of clothes to take care of, and each model was assigned to one rack.
I got this blonde girl named Anna (I think she's American. Either that, or Canadian) and she was all right.
I heard that there were a few models who were sort of stuck-up and snobbish =\
Anyway, I've also never been in a room with so many almost completely naked people before xD
The girls just came in and stripped off their clothes, ready to get into the next oufit. And all they were wearing inside were a pair of very tiny panties/G-strings.
I guess when you're a model, your confidence level has to be sky-high.

Oh darn it's so late, and I have to wake up early to go to work tomorrow. Sigh.
Work's all right though, but WHEE my 4th week of my internship is almost over!!!

Asia Conference 2010 was great.
Well, I only attended one entire day and a night of it, but still, hahahaha.
Unfortunately, I'm sick now, and so are quite a few other people who attended.
I think it was because of lack of sleep (a lot of people sacrificed their usual sleeping hours to go over early to queue up just so they could secure seats in the main hall instead of having to settle for the "overflow rooms") and too much excitement xD
*sniffle*
Anyway, I'm not complaining. It was indeed a blessing to have attended, even if I didn't get to go for the whole thing.

An hour and a half more before I can finally go off!
Right now I don't have anything to do because I've finished what I was asked to do earlier and all my seniors are in a meeting with the boss, so I can't really barge in and demand they give me a task, so yeah. Hahahaha.

Work has been pretty good so far. I'm only an intern so I do really simple stuff. Paperwork. MS Excel. Labelling. Helping with rather small things. Things that - as someone else put it - the seniors don't want to do themselves xD I did help to come up with a few very simple and minimalistic basic designs for a dress just now, though (: That was like, the first and only real design work I have had so far these three weeks, and even so I didn't feel like I was doing much (compared to what else I've had to do for school xD). But yeah, I understand that it's different here and again, I am only an intern.

So, there was recently a very controversial video making its way around various celebrity gossip blogs on the internet. This video - which was recorded in secret - shows a then-sixteen-year-old Miley Cyrus at a party (if I'm not mistaken it was a sort of wrap-up party for the filming of her latest movie The Last Song) "bumpin' and grindin'" rather aggressively against her movie's producer, an openly gay man named Adam Shankman. I don't feel like posting a link to the actual video here but if you're really curious then I guess you could try Googling it or something =\ It's known as the "Miley Cyrus lap dance video", I guess. Anyway, the video was quite disturbing considering the fact that Miley was only sixteen and the producer she was dancing so provocatively with was like, forty-four.

This isn't a screen shot from the video but that is Miley (obviously, ha) and that is the producer she was dancing with.

Anyway, what I really wanted to talk about was that although this video disturbed me and made me lose a lot more respect for Ms Cyrus, what I found even worse were some of the comments people posted in defense of Miley's actions. I can understand and accept those that said things like, "Leave her alone. Don't judge her. Let her do what she wants." But I came across quite a lot of comments that said things like,

"Oh come on. That's completely normal. Every teenage girl does that nowadays."

And that basically just made me lose hope for our society in general xD
Yes, although I am aware that this sort of activity is happening more and more around the world, that does not mean it's right and that should not make it acceptable. Besides, NOT EVERY TEENAGE GIRL IS DOING IT. Especially not with their 44-year-old bosses/co-workers. *shudders*

Another thing, I've noticed that more often than not in today's world, if you put someone down for doing something that is against your personal morals, you almost automatically get labeled a judgmental bigot, or something along those lines.

Anyway, this is just my opinion. I am not here to deliberately initiate a debate and I am not trying to prove that my views are better.

And just like that, my second year of college has come to an end.
My final assessment went okay... It wasn't perfect, that's for sure, but it went better than I thought it could have. Oh well.
The lecturers were a bit critical about some areas of my work but they all agreed that my fashion illustrations were nice =p

Operation surprise: Success!

Planning a surprise is fun =p
A little bit stressful, but when everything is successful, you just feel so accomplished, bahahaha.

HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY, SOO WEN YI. <3

So anyway, what happened was this:
Wenyi's mom and sister were planning to come over to Singapore to surprise Wenyi on her birthday, so they asked me and Justin to help out.
We invited Wenyi out for dinner but of course, said nothing about Aunty Candy and Wenyiing. They were to meet us at the restaurant and give Wenyi her special birthday surprise, ha =D

It went really smoothly and Wenyi turned the colour of strawberries and tomatoes when she saw them xD
I recorded a video and it is still currently in the process of being uploaded to Facebook, so if you've added me as a friend then feel free to check it out later, haha.

Anyway, the restaurant we ate at was called Astons Specialities and it's located at Suntec City.

Wenyi, Wenyiing and Aunty Candy had the restaurant's famous - or so I heard - ribeye steak.

So, one of my lecturers just opened another boutique of his at this place:

It's in an area which showcases plenty of other new local designer labels, and it's pretty cool! The stuff aren't cheap, though =\ But I guess you're paying for the personality injection into the garments and also because the pieces are usually produced in limited quantities.

So anyway, this is my lecturer's label:

Woot! Free promotion xD Hahaha. The boutique isn't very big, though, but there aren't a lot of items in the store, and it does make the place feel rather cosy (but it wasn't a comfortable room to be in just now because there were quite a lot of people inside).

Every single garment was white, and some had a bit of dark grey in them as well. Max's design style is quite unique.

There was white wine and black sesame-flavoured macaroons at the event, and it was quite scary because I was really afraid of getting all the white clothes dirty xD Thank goodness nothing like that happened... At least, not while I was still around, haha.

My lecturer is super camera shy so I don't have any pictures of or with him (We asked, but yeah, he declined). But yeah, that guy in a white jacket talking to the three ladies is him xD

Meh, and I have a 9am class with him tomorrow morning. But we're draping with knit fabric, which should be really fun =D

Other things I've been doing in school lately...

The mock-up of the shirt for my final menswear outfit. I hope my lecturer never sees this picture because the button plackets are overlapping the wrong way =p The left one is supposed to be over the right one.

Did this in last week's draping class.

And for textile design:

Wrapped some organza fabric in aluminum foil and folded it up into a random shape.

"Boiled" the wrapped up fabrics...

Voila! Hahahaha. And the organza fabric will more or less remain like that. I guess you can't really see the full effect of the folds in the picture, though.

I'm so unusually sleepy right now -_-
I spent a few hours doing homework last night, and because I foresaw that I was going to be up until quite late, I got myself a venti caramel macchiato from Starbucks to help keep me awake.

That kinda backfired on me.

So, the Academy Awards was last Sunday (actually, it was already Monday morning for us here in Asia by the time the ceremony had started, I think), and I quickly went online to find - not who the winners were, although I'm really glad that Sandra Bullock won Best Actress for her role in The Blind Side - red carpet pictures!

Here are some of my absolute favourites!

Anna Kendrick in Elie Saab Haute Couture. I loved her dress the moment I laid eyes on it. It's so pretty! Well, I am a fan of Elie Saab anyway, so I guess it isn't much of a surprise x) And she's so pretty. I didn't really pay that much attention to her as Jessica in the Twilight movies, hahaha. But yeah, this is definitely one of my favourites on the red carpet that night.

I've heard plenty of mixed reviews regarding Jennifer Lopez's Armani Privé dress (mostly negative, though =\), but for some reason I actually really like it xD This isn't really the best picture of it, but, I don't know, I just find it quite gorgeous xD

How could I say no to all the glitter and sparkles on Cameron Diaz's Oscar de la Renta beauty? And she looks really good from the neck up too. If I'm not mistaken, she's been turning up in rather disheveled hairstyles and weird make-up for events like this lately, and this is a very nice change indeed.

I was very pleasantly surprised when I saw Kristen Stewart in her Monique Lhuillier creation. It's so simple but so gorgeous at the same time, and it hugs her figure beautifully. I do wish Kristen had worn a simple necklace or dangling earrings or something, though, but I think she still looked really good.

I don't know who this Elizabeth Banks person is, but I'm quite fond of her Versace dress. The ruffles are so pretty! Hahaha.

Whoa! Helen Mirren is freaking 65 years old and she still looks great. I think her Badgley Mischka gown is perfectly age and event appropriate. Props to her.

And now, here are other gowns I didn't really like but still found okay...

Sandra Bullock in Marchesa. I love the detailed bodice but the skirt is almost bordering on tacky, for some reason =\

Penelope Cruz in Donna Karan. It's quite pretty, I guess, but the more I look at it, the more I think "overkill". Plus she literally looks as if she is rising up from the carpet.

Rachel McAdams in Elie Saab Haute Couture. I wouldn't be surprised if this dress came from the same collection as Anna Kendrick's did. Anyway, the dress itself (silhouette, details etc.) is lovely, but I guess I'm not a fan of the cloudy watercolour-like prints.

Miley Cyrus in Jenny Packham. Why is she the only Disney star who keeps showing up at the Oscars, anyway? About her dress: I love the skirt. It's sparkly, it's nice and flowy, and it covers up those legs she's been flashing way too much at various events this past year. And then we come to the bodice. It seriously looks like something you'd find at a freaking lingerie store. And I hate her hairstyle.

(Not very hard to tell that I'm not fond of Miley Cyrus at all, eh? Hahahaha.)

And a couple of really awful ones (in my opinion, at least):

Mariah Carey in Valentino Haute Couture. Well, it's not so much that the dress itself is awful, but Mariah should really, really learn to dress more appropriately for her figure! This definitely wasn't her first time squeezing into an outfit that was obviously just a little too tight for her. I've seen girls bigger than her look ten times better than her because they knew how to wear things that suited their bodies.

I think it's Sarah Jessica Parker's face that scares me the most here, hahaha. I mean, seriously! Does that look not frighten you!? As for her Chanel Haute Couture creation, I... just don't really like it.

Zoe Saldana in Givenchy Haute Couture. I. Hate. Those. POOFY THINGS. You know, if I were Zoe, I'd probably show up in a gown the colour of a Na'vi, hahahaha.

I can't wait to go and see it next week - hopefully - and in 3D!

Anyway, check out what I made in school today.

We were supposed to make (well, put together, more like. It doesn't really end up being a real garment in the end xD) a jacket/coat/etc. out of square/rectangle pieces of fabric. My creation up there is supposed to be some sort of bolero, and it received good comments from my lecturer (: It doesn't look very complete because he only wanted to see like, the general direction of our design, and we only had about an hour to do this.

My lecturer brought an example to class, which was a really cool coat from one of his own collections. I forgot to take a picture of it -_- Let me go to his website and see if I can find a pic of it... Aha!

Yeah, that was the jacket he brought along. It doesn't look as Batman-like when the wearer puts her arms down xD But yeah, so basically that jacket is created out of only two pieces of right-angled fabrics.

We also did some weaving in textile design class, and boy is it freaking tedious!

It ended up looking a lot like a mat that's in front of the bathrooms and kitchen back at home xD
Although it's super tedious and sometimes frustrating, you can't help but feel fascinated and happy when the product slowly begins to take shape, hahaha. I guess it's that way for a lot of things x)

Check out what I made in draping class this morning.

I didn't design it beforehand... I basically just cut strips of fabric and played around with them a little bit until I got what I got xD It was fun, for sure, but then in the end, I started feeling kinda bad because the dress is obviously something that's only meant for super skinny - and relatively boob-less xD - girls to wear =\

I know, I know, it's a stupid thing to feel bad about, but I want to create things that most women - not just the modelesque population - would wear and feel good in. Oh well, it's just one draping class xD I think that general design - sans the knots and twists, which were part of this week's criteria - would look rather good as a swimsuit, though =p

Two nights ago, someone was playing Mousehunt in real life at my place.

And they successfully caught this poor little fella!

I actually felt kinda sorry for the mouse ): I don't know what became of its fate, but it was gone the next morning.

So, rodent encounters aside, here are some random things and photos from my day today...

We did laser cutting during textile design at school, and I used a Marilyn Monroe stencil that I found on the internet as my motif xD She looks kinda creepy here...

And during computerized techniques...

Don't worry, I did manage to catch up with everything the lecturer was talking about =p

After class, Irenes, Alyssa and I went to 313 @ Somerset to check it out (since neither of us had been there before, I think. It sure as heck was my first time there).

Alyssa treated us to drinks from my favourite bubble tea outlet, Each A Cup <3

My absolute favourite - mango flavoured milk tea with "double pearl" (:

There were a lot of various food stalls in the basement, and Alyssa and Irenes felt hungry and went to buy a bunch of things to eat.

Alyssa's Takoyaki, except hers didn't actually have tako (octopus) in it xD She had scallop, bacon & cheese and... something else, lol. But yeah, she said that there were like, twelve different stuffings to choose from, which is almost ten more than are available in the outlet in Plaza Singapura.

After 313 (I finally had the chance to check out the four-storey Forever 21! <3 I didn't buy anything though =\), we headed to Ion Orchard.

I like how the afternoon sun pours through a curtain that isn't completely transparent yet not opaque at all.

Don't mind the magazine pages that are practically falling off my walls xD
I have to replace them soon, but I am, as usual, being a major procrastinator.

Anyway, today I had lunch at Swenson's with Irenes.

They have this lunchtime 1-for-1 offer, which made things a lot more affordable for poor lil' people like me xD

I love restaurants that give free iced water. Some selfish stingy places actually charge you for it -_-

I had clam chowder...

... and salmon and mushroom cream pasta <3

To be honest I didn't find anything that awesome about the food, but it was good. I'm not sure how often I'll go back there, though x)

After lunch we headed to the National Library reference section.
(Speaking of which, their security rules border on ridiculous -_-
I mean, not being allowed to bring in pen knives and cameras is more or less understandable,
but your own books!? It is a freakin' library for cryin' out loud,
reference section or not.)

They were out of the regular-sized pearls at Each-a-Cup, so I had to settle with the tiny pearls instead ):

Mystery/crime/thriller ones would be awesome too.

Horror? I might just give them a chance x)

I can take slasher flicks.

School starts tomorrow ):
Well, okay, so it's isn't that bad, but I'm going to miss KK (and everybody back there) so much!
I had such a fantastic vacation <3

Two days ago I left it to Ivan to plan our day, and he did a mighty good job at it too! First, he drove us to Centre Point to buy my [very, very belated] birthday presents xD Well, I was the one who got to pick them out, haha. I got a bag, an anklet and a pair of sunglasses, all from Vincci in Warisan Square. Thanks again, Ivan <3

After our shopping trip, he sent me back home to change into more comfortable clothes (well, into a pair of shorts and flip-flops), and we went for a simple dinner near my house. Then I was required to close my eyes while he drove us to our next destination, which was the "theme park" somewhere near Beverly Hills! Erm, not very well-maintained and not very impressive, but I still had a lot of fun, of course (: We played some of those games and I won two little teddy bears (I kept one and gave the other to Ivan), and Ivan won a little heart keyring for me. We also went on two of the rides.

Since there wasn't that much to do at the park, I suggested that we go to Sutera Harbour for a drink and maybe to walk around a little bit. We had cocktails (a tequila sunrise for me, and one called a zombie for Ivan) and mashed potatoes that, for some reason, made our breath smell like cheese, hahahaha.

So yeah, that was a brief account of my day out with Ivan. Oh, and earlier that morning my mom brought Tanya and I to that "largest book fair" in Suria KK, lol. I got "A Bend in the Road" by Nicholas Sparks, and started reading it while I was on the plane just now.

Speaking of books, I finished reading Jodi Picoult's "My Sister's Keeper" AND I HATED THE ENDING ))):

Okay, I do realize that it's midnight now, and the 3rd of January is over, but I really, really want to - once again - wish my dear mummy...

We did, however, go for a nice Japanese dinner at Wagamama in Asia City. I got her a cute little angel figurine reading a book (she's a librarian and she likes little angel figurines. Go figure.); Tanya got her a lovely card holder; and my dad paid for two pairs of earrings and a necklace that she chose from a Korean jewellery store just now. Oh, and he paid for dinner, of course, hahaha.

This afternoon after church, Tanya and I got a whole bunch of the youths into the church library where my mom was "working", and we all burst into the birthday song in three different languages! It was fun, and I think my mom liked it, hahaha.

So, school starts tomorrow for most people. My, how fast time flew. It seems like only a week ago that I was flying back home for the long holidays, and in just one more week, it'll be my turn to go back to school ): I'm going to miss everybody, and I'm definitely going to miss my holiday mood, which will have to go away once the semester begins again. Sigh.

I've already written down several New Year resolutions for 2010, but I'm not going to write them out here xD One that I will share, however, is that I want to learn as much Italian as I can. I downloaded an e-book for learning that language from my mom's library database thing.

Why Italian?
I don't know. Everybody else wants to learn like, French and Japanese and Korean.
Why not be different?
Plus Italy's like the fashion capital of the world, so yeah.
Knowledge of the language might come in handy for me one day. You never know (:

So, last night Ivan and I finally went out for that dinner that we two have been talking about for quite a while now (or that I have been talking about for quite a while now, whatever =p).

We went to Hana, the Japanese restaurant at City Mall, since I love Japanese food and so does he. I mean, what's not to love about Japanese food? Japanese food is awesome <3

I do wish the lighting in the restaurant was better for photography =\ But the flash was like, way too intense. Oh well.

Bahahaha. Believe it or not, I signed up for Outward Bound School! xD

For people who aren't very familiar with what that is, it's sort of this camp where you can do activities such as:

Kayaking (and I've heard that they deliberately overturn the kayak and you have to like, try to get out or something? Sounds scary)...

Rock-climbing (kind of looking forward to this one! I've never done it before)...

And I think, jungle-trekking as well.

So yeah, it's basically this place where you have to do all sorts of rugged stuff xD Not a place for short shorts and high heels. I think it would be a good challenge for me!
AND DON'T LAUGH AT ME. At least I'm trying, okay. I'm not the worst girly girl in town, hahaha.

I will be bringing my dear Canon along (I hope I don't lose or spoil it D=), and I will be trying to take as many photographs as I can, and I will be blogging about it (:

I saw this movie a few days ago.

"Set during World War II, a story seen through the innocent eyes of Bruno, the eight-year-old son of the commandant at a concentration camp, whose forbidden friendship with a Jewish boy on the other side of the camp fence has startling and unexpected consequences."

However, you have to be prepared for the film's very sad and very tragic ending =\ I also learned quite a bit about the whole Holocaust thing, something not taught in dear ol' Sejarah in school. You can go find it on YouTube if you want. I think it's a very good movie, and I would definitely watch it again.

Lol this is so random but I was just thinking about the very first time I heard of Josh Groban (♥ω♥).

Well, *ahem*, yeah, the very first time I heard his voice, more like. My aunt had this old Charlotte Church album that I used to love to listen to (this was almost 10 years ago O.o), and their duet The Prayer was on it, and when I heard it I totally pictured this "Josh Groban" guy as a typical fat-ish opera singer in his mid-40s or something. I mean, come on, because we all think people who sing like him look like that, ha. So anyway, I was like, "Okay, whatever" and life went on.

Not too long after that she got another CD, some compilation of various hits by David Foster, and that same The Prayer song was on.

And what I noticed was the CD cover, which had pictures of all the artists that were featured on the album. So I was just looking through...

...and then I saw Josh.

I seriously remember doing a double take, and a triple take! I was like, "Whoa. No way. That can't be that guy." xD But it was! Ahhh. And I have suuuuuuuuuuuuuuch a big celebrity crush on him right now. Ha.

All Hallow's Eve.

I've never celebrated Halloween even once in my life before. Seriously! It's just not something that's done in my family. Oh, screw that, it's just not something that's done in KK xD Hahaha!

But this year, I decided to at least go out to do something, instead of pitifully staying home the entire day or something, so after buying a few school supplies, Alyssa and I headed down to:

HAHAHAHA. Of all places, right!? But she wanted to take a look at some furniture because she's moving to a new house soon, so yeah, why not?

She told me that they serve the best hotdogs there, and they're cheap, so she was right! The hotdogs were like ONE DOLLAR, and they didn't taste bad. They didn't taste bad at all.

And they had the cutest ketchup/chilli sauce/mustard booth.

Seriously, doesn't this just remind you of milking a cow? xD

My yummy ketchup-drenched hotdog. I had two of these xD I mean, they're cheap! Stupid 7-11 sells these for like, nearly two dollars, but, well, their hotdogs are cheese-stuffed, but still!

After eating we finally went to see actual furniture, and dang, I wanted to sweep half the entire store clean. There were so many cute/gorgeous/unique things!

So, Irenes told me that ION Orchard was having some grand opening ceremony or something, with an appearance by Wang Leehom (she's a big fan), so she asked if I would like to go with her, and I said yes, even though I'm not a Leehom fan, but, whatever, you know? xD Hahaha.

I'm too lazy to upload all the pictures that I took that night, so if you want to see them, they're all on one album on my Facebook account, called ION Orchard Grand Opening (obviously), so yeah, you can check them out if you're friends with me on Facebook. They aren't very good pictures, though, because I wasn't in like, the VIP section of the place or whatever -_- Oh well. But here are some of the pics that I took:

Irenes and I saw several of these models walking around inside ION, and man, they are super skinny and super tall.

Random picture post! Sort of an opportunity to try out the new Blogspot photo-posting system or whatever x)

Okay, so today in Textile Design class, we did silk screen printing, which is, uh. You'll see in a while x)

That's the dye used in the printing x) Blue's not exactly a favourite colour of mine, but I really liked this shade of baby blue. I thought it was sweet x)

So that's one of the motifs that I designed xD Our - we're working in groups, and my teammate is Irenes - theme is retro games, but we did more on Pac-Man and Tamagotchi characters, and they seem to be really popular because a ton of people (including the module lecturer herself xD) kept commenting about how cute everything was, haha.

So, yep, that's how the motif turns out x) This one isn't done very well, though, because the cloth I used for this one was too thin, plus I wasn't aware that the table was a little wet, hence the slight smudge on the ghosts on the lower left corner -_-

And for draping class, we began on our free form dress drape, which we had to design ourselves based on what we've learned during this semester.

Sooo, here's a sneak peak of what I'm making for my final dress project at school! =]

Okay I know that drawing's quite ugly, but I whipped it up in like, 15 minutes on Illustrator and Photoshop, and I couldn't find any nicer red zebra print on the internet (trust me, the fabric that I got for the actual dress looks way better! I love it so much!), so yeah, there it is xD

But...
It has to be made in model measurements, which means I most definitely can't fit it D=
What a waste. But, if I make it well enough, I could sell it to some skinny chick out there xD HAHA.
But yeah, I really hope I do a great job on this one!

Finally! We get to hear Kevin Jonas sing solo! (: It's always either Joe or Nick who get solo parts in their songs, and a lot of people (well, fans at least, hahaha) have been dying to hear Kevin sing, and here it is!

I really like his singing voice. It sort of sounds like Joe's singing voice, but sort of more, like, subtle and kinda less "whinny" (Sorry, Joe. I like your voice, but it's true xD). KEVIN SHOULD SING MORE ON FUTURE STUDIO TRACKS!

Dude, just check these out. I found them on DeviantArt, and I was like, WHOA.

Somebody with a lot of free time (ha) took all our favourite classic Disney heroes and turned them into underwear supermodels, so to speak. Okay, to be honest, I cropped these pictures because, uhm, from the waist down, the artist, hmmm. How do I put it? Spared no details? HAHAHA. I don't know. I want my poor innocent blog to remain strictly PG-13 at the least =p Lol!

Anyway! The artist did an amazing job making the characters look real, but still keeping their original cartoon features painfully accurate. It's mind-blowing, seriously. So here they are, accompanied with pictures of their "original" selves (and yes, they're all half-naked xD):

Birthday update!

Finally! I'm able to blog about my awesome 19th birthday, which was 2 days ago -_- Lawl. If you know me enough, you'd be familiar with my constant complaints about my retarded internet connection (or as I've said again and again, lack thereof), so yeah, blame that again.

It's not working again (it was fine for a few hours last night, but not today), so here I am, at Starbucks again. They're a lifesaver, seriously. So I got a cheese bagel and a caramel macchiato to say thanks, ha.

ANYWAY. Birthday post!
My school decided to honour my birthday (okay, I'm just kidding) organize their annual Fun Day on the very day of my birthday, at Wild Wild Wet, obviously a water park, lol. So actually, one reason my birthday was so awesome was because I had a great time at the water park. I know it's not the most impressive or biggest water park around, but I think it was all right, plus I'm easily amused anyway. I would've had a miserable time if all I wanted to do was compare that water park to all the other bigger and better water parks elsewhere.

What else? Pictures! (:

There's basically this playgound-ish place with lots of pumps and sprays and stuff that really get you all wet. I'm pretty sure it's kinda impossible to stay dry in this place, unless you hide at the food stalls all day long, which obviously doesn't sound very fun at all.
Oh, and see that giant bucket at the upper left corner of the photo above? Well, it's always being filled with water, and when it's full...

Aha. You can get a very good massage if you stand under that.

And what's a water park without water slides? (:

Again, not really the most impressive slides in the world, but still pretty awesome. Especially the slide that's blue with yellow stripes (or yellow with blue stripes, but that doesn't matter), which is creatively called "Ular-Lah" ('Ular' means 'snake' in Malay, for those who don't know), and you have to sit in this, uh, darn, I don't even know what it's called.

Yeah, that one xD Is it a tube raft or something? Oh, whatever =p
So yeah, you sit in that and slide down the slide. Yeah.

One ride that won't get you wet is this one:

It looks pretty tame, but not if you're afraid of heights xD I don't consider myself that afraid of heights, but I did find myself freaking out just a little when I first went on it. You really feel like you're cycling on air, and there's like, nothing below you except the ground and maybe a pool xD
And it won't help if you've seen Final Destination 3, ha.

And the most thrilling ride in the park (in my opinion, at least, but I'm pertty sure lots of others would agree with me):

I sat backwards =D

This one's called the Tsunami, and I think it's something like the one that's at Sunway Lagoon, where there's this pool that generates fake waves or something? I'm not sure. I've never been in that one before xD

Sometimes it's calm...

But at a certain time, big waves start rolling out, and it's super fun, but I think holding onto the tubes too long and hard gave me upper arm muscle aches.

Wow. Nineteen. The last age with a -teen. I suddenly feel very old xD Hahahaha. Anyway, like I've probably already mentioned over and over again, I had an awesome birthday (: My school had its Fun Day at Wild Wild Wet, a water park, today (obviously in honour of me, nyehaha... Okay fine, I'm just kidding) and I had such a blast there. Sure, it isn't the most impressive water theme park in the world, but I still enjoyed myself a lot. Plus it was a much better location than the pathetic one last year...

Yes, I have pictures, but unfortunately the internet is - as usual - being too dumb and slow for me to do anything with them. Ugh, the internet's actually been completely disconnected for the past three freakin' days. Even now it's super unstable and getting on my nerves. A lot.
